Rosatom's new e-store makes licensing new nuclear builds straightforward
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 29 - 12 - 2019

After successfully running a beta version, Rosenergoatom JSC (Rosatom's Electric Power Generation Division) has officially launched a unique digital sales support service called "The technical documentation e-shop".
This service enables access to all necessary regulatory and technical documentation to operate Russian-designed nuclear power plants.
Any organization can quickly and conveniently, either from a computer or a phone, find and order these documents online from an easy-to-use database.
Ekaterina Solntseva, Rosatom's director for digitalisation, congratulated her colleagues on the successful launch: "We spotted a gap in the market to provide a system which would allow a quick and convenient means to provide and share such important documents. Our colleagues at Rosenergoatom have done an excellent job in offering customers modern and convenient digital solutions."
The online store is not only expected to enable customers all over the world to increase the safe operation level of NPPs at all stages of the life cycle, but also to reduce the time and cost of implementing and constructing NPPs, as customers will no longer have to design their own regulatory framework.
The service will also greatly facilitate and speed up the process of obtaining licenses and other permits from supervisory and other government bodies.
"This project was born out of the Automated Technical Documentation Control Systems (ATDCS) that we use at Rosenergoatom, which details all the standards, regulations and specifications required at various stages of a nuclear power plant's life cycle." Deputy CEO and Business Development Director of Rosenergoatom Nikita Konstantinov said.
"The huge amount of research we carried out has resulted in the upload of more than 1,100 documents into our e-store. These include documents related to export products, such as the innovative Generation 3+ VVER-type power units, worth more than 6.5 million USD," he added.
According to Konstantinov, Rosenergoatom plans to improve the service so as to adapt documents to specific customer requirements looking to build VVER-type power units, providing them with packages detailing any regulatory, scientific, and design documentation necessary for obtaining a license and so on, so as to safely operate the plant.
The project was carried out jointly by Rosenergoatom's Department of International Business and Development and its IT Project Management and Integration Department, as well as the Innovative Development Office, and Rosatom's Digitalisation Unit. — SG
