Published in The Saudi Gazette on 28 - 12 - 2019

Under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and following the directives of Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police; the Dubai Police Academy has announced its 'Touching Mother's Heart' initiative in conjunction with the graduation of the 27th batch of students, which will be held on January 15, 2020. The importance of the initiative, which was implemented with the follow-up from Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Fahd, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Academic Affairs and Training at Dubai Police; and the supervision of Dr. Ghaith Ghanim Al Suwaidi, Director of the Dubai Police Academy, is that it is the first-of-its-kind in the world that aims to highlight the role of mothers in raising a generation of future leaders and promoting social progress via the adoption of values related to tolerance, peace, openness and coexistence.
‘Touching Mother's Heart' initiative brings joy to mothers' hearts
Dr. Ghaith Ghanim Al Suwaidi, Director, Dubai Police Academy, and the supervisor of the initiative said: "This is a very important initiative, especially as it throws the spotlight on a mother's contributions and efforts to raise a new generation of individuals who are keen to work and serve the country, to make the UAE one of the leading countries in the world. We created the initiative with the intention of bringing joy to the hearts of all mothers who are nurturing generations as real assets and pillars of development in the UAE, capable of protecting the homeland and providing security, happiness and goodwill to the community. 'Touching Mother's Heart' initiative aims to recognize and honor the role of mothers and their efforts in enabling graduate students and candidates to obtain a university degree from the academy."
Al Suwaidi emphasized on the importance of inviting scholars' mothers from various Arab countries, including KSA, Kuwait and Bahrain. The Academy cooperated with the UAE ambassadors in these countries to send invitation and appreciation letters to the mothers of graduating students, to thank them for their pioneering roles in raising a good generation of men willing to provide safety and security. In line with the initiative, mothers were contacted and were personally visited and invited to attend the graduation ceremony of their children. During the ceremony, students will adorn their mothers with necklaces to return the favor, for their contributions to raising a generation of youth that became the pride of their nations, and to highlight their efforts in following up and supporting their children to achieve excellence and leadership.
The embassy of the UAE in Kuwait welcomed the representatives of the ‘Touching Mother's Heart' initiative, in line with its keenness to deepen and consolidate Kuwaiti-Emirati relations. We thank and appreciate them for all their efforts, as they are role models and foundations in the development of future generations. "
For their part, the mothers thanked all of the organizations connected with the initiative, especially the female component, who played their role and stressed that this step doubled their happiness and joy on the occasion of the graduation of their sons. Al Suwaidi also made phone calls to congratulate the parents, who expressed their great thanks for the efforts of the Academy and their implementation of an initiative that no one had previously implemented.
