RIYADH — Saudi Arabia received a total of 71 requests seeking execution of court rulings issued in foreign countries during the current Hijri year. The Ministry of Justice said that these requests were to secure a total amount of SR288 million. According to the Ministry of Justice, the Eastern Province topped the list with 31 requests with a value of about SR200 million, followed by Riyadh with 19 requests with a value of SR51 million, then Makkah with 11 requests totaling an estimated amount of SR36.7 million, and finally Madinah, Qassim, Tabuk, Hail and Najran with 10 requests worth SR300,000. The ministry affirmed that the Saudi courts' deal with these requests positively, which enhances the international status of the Saudi judiciary concerning the implementation of foreign judgments, with all firmness to restore rights to their owners. The enforcement judiciary is competent to execute judgments issued by a foreign country based on reciprocity, in compliance with international treaties and conventions.
