Over 2,500 toys unveiled at Riyadh Toy Festival

RIYADH — More than 2,500 new toys were unveiled at the Riyadh Toy Festival, which kicked off on Thursday.
Abdul Karim Al-Aqeel, director general of the Riyadh Season, said that the festival is a milestone event in the history of the Arab toys industry, and is of exceptional importance as it is hosting the largest toy companies around the world for the first time in the Kingdom.
"There are more than 2,500 types of toys, of which 500 new toys were launched for the first time in the Saudi markets. The festival also hosts 10 global games," he said.
Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Aqeel said that there are 2,140 Saudi organizers, including women, present at the festival to serve all segments of visitors.
The festival, which runs through Oct. 24-31, is being held on an area spreading over 20,000 square meters with the capacity to hold 50,000 visitors. There are over 40 entertaining corners across five major zone set for children and their families.
The Riyadh Toy Festival is part of the activities of the Riyadh Season, which lasts for 70 days continuously during the period from Oct. 11 to mid-December. The event, which aims to enhance education through entertainment, includes many interactive corners, where children learn new hobbies such as cooking and crafting.
The Riyadh Season continued to register record numbers in terms of the number of visitors, as well as the number of events and amount of revenues.
More than 100 entertainment events are being held, spreading across 12 locations across the capital Riyadh. As part of the festival, the Riyadh Winter Wonderland kicked off on Tuesday with various games and activities.
The Riyadh Season aims to support the infrastructure of entertainment in Riyadh and upgrade the local tourism and entertainment sectors, in addition to transforming the Kingdom to become one of the most important tourist and entertainment destinations in the world, and enhance its prime location on the map of tourism and entertainment world.
