RIYADH — The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has launched a central department for examining claims at registration, in order to speed up proceedings, in the interest of litigants and judicial panels. The new department prepares claim files before registration and ensures the fulfillment of all requirements before referral to judicial panels. The goal is to standardize verification procedures and enhance the efficiency of first hearings. "The new department receives statements of claim from all courts and checks their content according to a methodical classification system," the MoJ said. "It has been divided into seven divisions according to the type of case handled, in addition to support and quality assurance divisions," the ministry added. It has set a target of five million claims per year, equivalent to around 5,000 claims per day, with a target to reach 80% of client satisfaction. The new department is aligned with the MoJ's Model Court project, which aspires to institutionalize the judiciary by implementing administrative policies, regulations, and statistically-guided initiatives.
