Maraya Art Centre, a non-profit creative organization that strives to support emerging artists and designers in the region, which is under Sharjah Investment and Development Authority — (Shurooq), will present an exhibition consisting of photographs highlighting Sharjah's celebrated landscapes and natural vistas by Emirati photographer Obaid AlBudoor. The photographs will showcase various locations in Sharjah including Mleiha, Wadi Al Helo, Al Madam, and more. The photographs will be on display at stand F2 of Xposure 2019, one of the premier photography events in the region, which begins on Thursday (Sept. 19 ) will continue till Sunday (Sept. 22) at Expo Centre Sharjah. A renowned photographer and visual storyteller within the local scene with a passion for traveling, Beedii, as he is known to his thousands of online followers, has established a reputation for visually stunning images of landscapes both in the UAE and the wider region. AlBudoor's work highlights the variety of stunning landscapes across Sharjah, documenting the diverse natural vistas in a number of lesser-known or frequented areas around the Emirate, and he is also known for his work for various international brands including Apple, Vogue, and National Geographic Abu Dhabi. Dr.Nina Heydemann, director of Maraya Art Centre, said: "We are thrilled to be working with Obaid Albudoor to present his work, capturing the richness of Sharjah's natural environment and the myriad of phenomenal views available across the Emirate. Our aim, in line with the values of Shurooq, is to continue to develop the artistic community, providing a platform for emerging local artists and fostering a dialogue between them and the wider community." Speaking ahead of the exhibition, AlBudoor said "I wanted to show the breadth and variety that Sharjah has to offer. From the city, distant mountains in the east, and the farthest shores in Khor Fakkan. I hope that the exhibition leaves viewers in awe of places they didn't know were so close to home and encourages them to explore their local community."
