Role of foreign player in terror plot exposed

RIYADH — In its third episode titled “It's the home country… we should not forget that” Monday night, the talk show “Our Concerns” claimed that certain countries in the region had a hand in the plot to bomb key facilities in Yanbu.
The show also said these countries aimed to deal a blow to Saudi economic security and disrupt development by using Saudi citizens to achieve their destructive goals. They also planned to target vital economic facilities including the largest industrial seaport in the world. All of this information came to light when authorities intercepted phone calls made by the terrorists to their contacts in that country.
The show hosted an eyewitness who said most of the people involved in the terrorist operation had well-paying jobs and received other perks such as generous travel allowances. The eyewitness went on to tell the story of a foreign engineer who was killed by the terrorists. The engineer had observed Muslims performing prayer in the complex and repeatedly asked questions about Islam until he embraced the religion and took the Shahada (Islamic creed). He even attended classes at Da'wa offices in Yanbu.
One day, a supervisor of a Da'wa office asked him to talk about his journey to Islam with other non-Muslims who would come to the office searching for answers to their questions. When he told his story, several of the attendees embraced Islam.
On the day the attack was supposed to take place, the eyewitness said the terrorists acted normally and showed no signs of holding extremist views. On the contrary, they appeared to be normal Saudi men who wore Western clothes and liked to vacation abroad.
The terrorists' confessions showed a dark side of their ties with a foreign player and that they had been planning to carry out a terrorist operation in Yanbu for six months.
“One of the terrorists left his home that day to buy breakfast. He then left his family to carry out the attack. He acted perfectly normal with his wife, children and parents as if he was going on a vacation. No one detected anything suspicious in his behavior. This is further proof that these terrorists were trained by highly-experienced intelligence agencies,” said the eyewitness.
The episode focused on the real image and message of Islam which is peace and not destruction and terrorism. More emphasis was given to the influence of words on human beings and how words can make people leave their religion and embrace Islam. It also said the image of Islam presented by terrorists was a deviation from true Islam which calls for fair treatment of non-Muslims who come to the Kingdom to help in its development.
The episode also drew public attention to the fact that there are terrorists out there who want to wreak havoc in the Kingdom and they work relentlessly to accomplish their goals. Another important message which the episode conveyed was that anyone who collaborates with an enemy country should be given the death sentence.
