Seven people were killed and nine others injured in a traffic accident on Yanbu- Madina highway near Al-Hussienia village on Wednesday. The accident occurred when two mini-buses carrying 50 passengers from Makkah to Madina collided with each other. Preliminary investigations showed that the driver of the bus carrying Sudanese passengers and others dozed off and rear-ended the other bus. The bus over-turned several times killing some passengers on the spot. Ayman Al-Sedalani, director of Public Relations at King Fahd Hospital, said nine people, including seven women, suffering from injuries were brought in the emergency. Some of them suffered fractures in different parts of the body, he said. A Sudanese in his 40s suffered from severe head injury and was reported brain dead. The condition of the rest of the passengers was stable and two of them were discharged in the following morning. Sedalni said the ages of the injured passengers ranged between 30 and 50 years. – Okaz __
