GAZT organizes international Riyadh tax conference

The General Authority of Zakat & Tax of Saudi Arabia is organizing the Zakat & Tax Conference 2019 which will discuss key recent developments in the regional and global economics and taxation arenas.
The conference will take place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Riyadh on 13th – 14th November and will commence with a keynote address by the Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan under whose patronage the conference will be conducted. The year 2019 has seen significant changes in international tax which affect businesses and tax environments across the world and the Zakat & Tax Conference 2019 will bring together key policy makers and tax administrations to explain the current international tax challenges, including BEPS, the digital economy and tax reform worldwide. There will be a key focus on the global digital agenda in taxation which is a growing issue for tax authorities and policy makers as well as an examination on how the use of technology is impacting the tax function.
The conference will address several topics, some of which are Zakat calculation methodologies, review of corporate income tax and application of VAT in the Kingdom and the Gulf States, deploying modern technologies to improve Zakat and tax compliance and the business perspective on the digital economy in relation to taxation.
The Zakat & Tax Conference 2019 will include 12 key discussion sessions on Zakat and taxation from a speaker panel of 55 international and regional specialists. The event will also feature an exhibition highlighting organizations providing technical services, software solutions and accounting, finance and services related to the work of Zakat and taxes.
In attendance will be delegates comprising of commissioners and deputy commissioners from global tax authorities, senior representatives from government ministries, regional and international zakat and tax practitioners, accountants, finance directors, VAT specialists, academicians and regulatory authorities.
This is the first time the conference is being held in Saudi Arabia and it will be a platform for accountants, academics and professionals working in the field of Zakat and Taxation to increase their knowledge through the exchange of local and international expertise while reviewing the latest industry developments.
The Zakat & Tax Conference 2019 format will be keynote sessions, high-level executive fireside discussions, interactive panel dialogues and other networking activities. SG
