Jordan's Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed Al-Assass signed in Amman on Thursday with Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Fund for Development Dr. Khalid Bin Sulaiman Al-Khudairy a financing agreement for the establishment and equipping of government schools in different regions of Jordan with a value of $50 million. The agreement was signed in the presence of Prince Khalid Bin Faisal Bin Turki, Saudi ambassador to Jordan, and Jordanian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Walid Maani. Dr. Al-Assaas expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Saudi leadership and people for the continuous support provided to Jordan through years of strong bilateral relations. The Jordanian minister appreciated Saudi Arabia's contribution to the GCC grant to carry out strategic projects of high priority for the Jordanian government in various sectors, as well as providing Jordan with a package of assistance in the context of the Makkah Summit. He also noted the prominent role played by the Saudi Fund for Development in supporting the development process in Jordan in the past years. Al-Khudairy stressed that the agreement reflects the close ties between the two countries and the two peoples, pointing out that the agreement is an extension of the sincere efforts exerted by the Government of Saudi Arabia to support development projects implemented by the Jordanian government. Saudi Ambassador Prince Khalid affirmed the Kingdom's support for Jordan, including economic support, while pointing out the strong ties between the two countries over the years. — SPA
