The Arab coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen said its forces were able to intercept and destroy drones launched by the Houthi militia toward the airport in the southern Saudi city of Jazan. The traffic at Jazan airport was normal after it being targeted by the Houthi projectiles. In a statement, coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki said the drones were launched by the Houthi militia from Sanaa in Yemen. "The Houthi terrorist criminal tool deliberately targets civilians and civilian installations, and that none of their targets have been achieved. They have been destroyed and shot down," Al-Maliki said. "We affirm the continued implementation of deterrent measures against these terrorist militias and the neutralization of Houthi capabilities with all rigor and in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules," he added. On Tuesday, a Yemeni rebel attack on Abha airport left nine civilians wounded, the coalition said. On June 12, a rebel missile attack on Abha airport wounded 26 civilians. Another rebel attack on the airport on June 23 killed a Syrian national and wounded 21 other civilians, according to the coalition. — SG/SPA
