Mashroat, Public Prosecution in deal on construction projects
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 29 - 05 - 2019

Mashroat signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Public Prosecution by which it will provide world-class technical advisory services and technical support in the Public Prosecution's construction projects.
The signing, which was attended by the Public Prosecution's Assistant Undersecretary Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Muqbel and the Director General of Mashroat Eng. Ahmed Bin Mutair Al-Balawi, supports Vision 2030's directives to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of the national infrastructure by applying global best practices.
Ali Bin Mohammed Al Fadhli, the Director of Development in the Public Prosecution, said: "This agreement we signed with Mashroat is in line with our efforts to build our projects in accordance to best practices in the areas of project management, operation and maintenance. We also seek to establish a flexible environment to maximize project delivery."
Al-Balawi said "through these agreements, we seek to enable the public sector's project and facilities management departments to manage their projects and facilities with greater efficiency and effectiveness."
"This latest signing, which brings the total number of public agencies with which ‘Mashroat' has signed agreements to 26, embodies the constructive collaboration that is taking place between government agencies to achieve the aspirations of the nation and its vision for development," Al-Balawi added. "And we expect these agencies to start reaping the fruits of these collaborations in the near future as we enable them to reach their strategic objectives and unlock greater value and impact for the national economy."
"We will go in and assess the management of the Public Prosecution's existing construction projects in terms of designs, the policies, procedures and processes followed, the available human, technical and organizational capabilities, the implementation process of the construction projects and the development of a flexible environment to help deliver construction projects efficiently and effectively," he noted.
The MoU is an implementation of a royal decree (No. 47004) dated May 31, 2018, pursuant to the Council of Ministers' resolution stating that public entities shall establish project management offices in cooperation with Mashroat to follow up, coordinate and manage their projects and ensure their delivery. — SG
