Okaz/Saudi Gazette JAZAN — Civil Defense teams assisted by a number of volunteers are continuing their search for the third consecutive day for a young boy who was washed away by flash floods in Wadi Al-Aridah in Jazan following heavy rain in the region. The Civil Defense did not identify the boy but said they rescued two people whose car was washed away by floodwaters in one of the valleys to the east of Jazan. The heavy rain and the torrential floods caused landslides and disrupted the traffic movement in the area. The Civil Defense warned the residents against fluctuating weather conditions in coming days and asked them not to cross the valleys at the time of raining because of the possibility for flash floods. On its part, the General Authority of Meteorology and Environment Protection expected thunderous rain and active winds in a number of areas including Jazan, Najran, Asir, Baha and Makkah. It said the rain might go as far as the southern parts of Madinah and added that there would be active winds, which will considerably reduce visibility in Jouf, Hail and Qassim regions.
