Boeing Saudi Arabia is a sponsor of the 2019 Global Aviation Summit that is being held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and organized by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). The Summit will be held April 1 and 2. Boeing's sponsorship is an affirmation of the company's long-term partnership with the Kingdom, and underscores its commitment to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 that supports a range of programs and the local industry. "The aviation industry in Saudi Arabia has recorded remarkable growth and the Summit is a key platform to sustain and continue building dialogue between the government and private sector," said Ahmed Jazzar, president, Boeing Saudi Arabia. "Boeing is very keen to support this initiative that encourages active involvement in policymaking, regulations and development plans for the global civil aviation industry including the Kingdom's own imperative for this sector under Saudi Vision 2030." Boeing enjoys a strong and long-standing relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The partnership began Feb. 14, 1945, when US President Franklin D. Roosevelt presented a twin-engine DC-3 Dakota airplane to King Abdulaziz Al Saud. This event marked the beginning of Boeing relationship with KSA and the birth of commercial air travel in the Kingdom. Since then, Boeing has developed and expanded relationships with the Saudi civilian and defense sectors as well as with the private sector.
