Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — There are 2,585 judges working in the Kingdom's 350 general courts in 130 governorates, according to reliable sources. The courts took one million sessions during the past six months. The number of lawsuits filed during the same period has also increased tremendously. Legal specialists and consultants attribute this to higher efficiency, faster disposal of cases and the use of modern technology. The Ministry of Justice has enhanced the work of the executive judicial departments, which are deemed the most important link in the judicial system. The ministry announced recently that 723,000 sessions had been held in the courts of three regions – Riyadh, Makkah and the Eastern Province. It pointed out that over 411,000 court verdicts have been issued during the past six months.
