Jubail bagged the DCA-Kanoo Cup after beating last year's champion Blue Star in the final of the T20 DCA Cup 2008 which was sponsored by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo here. After Blue star captain Hyder opted to bat first he lost his partner Asharaf quickly. In the second over of Tafsir, Blue Star suffered a second blow by losing the vital wicket of Tafash on the same score of 4 runs. Now, Blue Star's in-form batsman Anwar joined captain Hyder and added 27 runs. After the fall of the third wicket of captain Hyder, Blue Star lost another wicket in the next over. Anwar continued with Muthu who smashed two consecutive sixes off Tanzil to take the score to 67 runs in their first 10 overs. After a break, Blue Star lost 3 more wickets in 2 overs. After the fall of the sixth wicket on the score 76, Irfan and Anwar added 45 runs for the 7th wicket making it 121 runs. With the fall of these two, the batsmen followed were left with nothing much to show and the team was all out for 138 in the 19th over. For Amaco-Jubail, Tafsir captured 4 wickets with excellent support from Tanzil and Nazir. In reply, Amaco-Jubail openers Zahir and Shabbir began steadily. In the third over on the score of 10 runs it lost Zaheer. Tanzil joined opener Shabbir and they batted superbly maintaining the required average and crossed 50 in the 8th over. Tanzil proved his prowess and thrashed the Blue Star bowling by taking the tally to 100 in 13 overs. After the departure of Tanzil on his individual score of 63 (4 sixes, 3 fours) Amaco achieved the target in the 17th over, with six wickets in hand. Opener Shabbir remained unbeaten on 57. Tanzil of Amaco-Jabail was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his superb batting and bowling. After the final, sponsor Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo lauded the efforts of DCA committee members in organizing such a grand tournament which lasted for four months with 25 teams participating and promised Kanoo's support in future too. __
