Nasr of Saudi Arabia qualified to the semifinals of the 24th GCC Club Soccer Championship after winning over Group A host Al-Khor of Qatar 3-1 in Doha on Tuesday. With this win Al-Nasr joined Group B winner Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia (7 points), Group A winner Al-Qadisia (10 points) and Al-Salmiyah of Kuwait Group B runner-up (6 points) in the semifinals. The two Saudi teams, Al-Ahli and Al-Nasr will meet in home-and-away semifinal matches. The two Kuwaiti teams Al-Qadisia and Al-Salmiyah will do the same. Mohammed Al-Shahrani put Al-Nasr in the lead in the 52nd minute and Brazilian Elton Jose added another goal 10 minutes later. Fabris Soza of Al-Khor reduced the lead in the 64th minute. But Shahrani sealed the victory in the 85th minute. Al-Nasr coach Radan could have ended his team's hopes to qualify if he had continued with his first-half, one-striker formation. The teams went for the break without scoring, 0-0. Radan was forced to change his mind and used Shahrani up front to help Omotoyossi. Shahrani played one of his best matches and formed extra strength to Al-Nasr. From a free kick in the 52nd minute, Shahrani scored from outside the box. In the 62nd minute, striker Razak passed the ball to Elton to make it 2-0. Radan replaced Razak with another striker Rayyan Bilal. But Soza scored for Al-Khor. Five minutes before the end, Shahrani sealed the victory. __
