THE GCC Commercial Arbitration Center, in collaboration with the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, began its last pre-trial phase of developing the arbitrators in a new ensemble for 2013. The key arbitrator for the program, Dr. Adli Hammad, said the training program will last for four days at the JCCI headquarters. The program will act as a steppingstone and bridge the gaps between the Center and the JCCI to support its efforts in rehabilitation of Gulf cadres specializing in resolving the commercial disputes through 'arbitration'. The program plays a vital role in the preparation of commercial arbitrators and makes them available to the commercial market, thereby contributing to the settlement of disputes more quickly rather than recourse to the ordinary courts to ensure the continued movement of trade and investment. “This session will develop a culture of commercial arbitration in Saudi Arabia's economic community and serve as an alternative for the settlement of trade disputes and I am pleased to add my experience and knowledge to this program.” He added “it is my pleasure to shed light on the subject of arbitration and enlarge the spectrum of knowledge for the young Saudi generation of qualified arbitrators who are capable of getting officially certified in commercial arbitration center.” The program was started in the preliminary stage and focused on addressing " The concept of arbitration and legal nature .It have five principal stages beginning with the first phase, “Arbitration agreement and regulations” the second stage consists of “arbitration proceeding” the third phase will be entitled as “arbitration award methodology/rules " followed by the fourth phase that concentrates mainly on “arbitration provisions and implementation”. This meeting will act as a source of light and highlight the Commercial Arbitration Center in GCC through the classification of ‘Arbitration' and the legal nature of the borderline between national and international governance and the role of the judiciary in arbitral system. – SG
