MANILA — Zia Quizon credits her success to the support she got from people, especially OPM (Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit), she told Pep.ph. The “ASAP” mainstay is one of the country's fastest-rising singers today. Although she chose the pop, classical and jazz genre, Filipino fans still proved receptive to her music. “Filipinos liked it because I guess they are looking for a message in a song, and they're perhaps looking for artists they can hear sing inspirations as part of their lives,” she said. Quizon also revealed that her mom, singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla, still talks to her late dad, “Comedy King” Dolphy, who died at 83 in July last year due to complications from pneumonia. “Sometimes I still catch her talking to my dad, she still meditates. And I think it's kind of a lifelong process to get over,” she said, according to Pep. — SG
