Nasr of Saudi Arabia kept its hopes alive for qualifying into the next round of the 24th GCC Soccer Championship after winning over Al-Nahdhah of Oman 2-1 in Doha Saturday. Mohammed Al-Shahrani put the Saudi team ahead in the 12th minute and Rayyan Bilal scored the second goal in the 29th minute. The yellow team succeeded to end the first half with a two-goal cushion. The Omani team fought back to reduce the margin in the 76th minute through Salem Al-Shamsi. In the 65th minute, Al-Nasr coach Radan replaced Bilal with another striker Abdul-Rahman Al-Bishi in an attempt to keep pressing the opponent. But the Omani team began attacking and managed to score. With this win, Al-Nasr increased its tally to four points and stays third behind Al-Qadsiah (7 points) of Kuwait and Al-Muharraq (5) of Bahrain. The Omani team has a match against Al-Qadsiah. Al-Nasr now is in a must-win situation against the group host Al-Khor Tuesday. Al-Nasr, had lost three points against Al-Qadsiah last week. It later shared points with Al-Muharraq in a goalless match. __
