Public sector employees will be able to enjoy the longest Eid holiday break of 13 days this year. Holidays this year will begin Ramadan 22 instead of the usual Ramadan 25. This long break is mainly due to the National Day holiday that falls on Tuesday, Ramadan 22, Al-Watan said on Saturday. According to the Fourth Article of the Vacations List issued by the Civil Service Council in 1426 Hijra, if the National Day falls on Tuesday and the Eid vacation begins the following Thursday, the Eid holiday is to begin on Tuesday. The Eid Al-Fitr vacation for public service employees usually begins on Ramadan 25 and ends on Shawwal 5. Analysts believe this long break will be a good omen for hotel and transportation sectors with citizens and expatriates availing of this “first of its kind” opportunity to explore new tourism vistas in the Kingdom. __
