The Pakistani Community in Jeddah celebrated their Independence Day with a host of activities like musical performances, dance, a website launch, regional presentations, raffle draw, and gifts. The venue was the Pakistan International School-English Section (PISJ-ES). Hasan Jahangir and Imran Sajan, popular Pakistani singers, performed their hit songs to the 2000-odd audience. Jahangir expressed his wish to perform with Saudi singers. He said he sang an Arabic song to show his love for the country. “I always commend the Saudi-Pak friendship and our cultural exchanges will extend the bilateral ties,” he said. Zaigham Uddin Azam, Consul General of Pakistan, announced the first free medical camp to be held in Makkah. “The Medical Camp will be run by doctors of the Pakistan Welfare Society Jeddah till it is handed over to local doctors for management, consultation and medicines,” he said. Informing the audience, Zaigham Uddin said students completing their intermediate studies could continue higher education online through web-based courses of Allama Iqbal Open University. “We may disagree on party leaders or any political situations in our country, but we should remember that we as Pakistanis should represent our country in the best way,” said Ameer Mohammad Khan who conducted the program. __
