Faiz Al-Najdi RIYADH — Former India cricket captain and a present Member of the Parliament Mohammad Azharuddin, who is in the Kingdom on a private visit, was feted by Royal Academy of Cricket (RAC) and Delhi Public School Riyadh here Saturday. Azharuddin, who arrived in Riyadh on the invitation of Nadeem Tareen of Delhi Public School Riyadh, paid a visit to RAC, which was set up to train young talented cricketers. Azharuddin, one of the successful India captains, met with RAC officials Shahzad Alam, Dr. Aamir Tarar, Mubashar Kiani, Ahsan Rizvi, Salman Siddiqui, Prof. Dr. Mujahid Khan, Amir Aziz Zaidi, Kamran Tareen, Shakil, Qadeer Khan, Aqeel Ur Rehman, Shahid, Faisal Nawaz, Kashif Rauf, Naffay and Syed Yasir. After visiting RAC he lent some useful advise to improve its facilities. He keenly watched the training session under RAC coach Ahsan Rizvi and also gave useful batting and fielding tips to the young cricketers. Azharuddin responded to the excited youngsters' request for autograph by signing bats, balls, gloves and T-shirts. A memento — a golden sword — was awarded to Azharuddin by RAC Director Operations Mubashar Kiani. Earlier, he attended a luncheon reception which was attended by members of RAC and some Indian and Pakistani cricket enthusiasts and fans of Azharuddin.
