DAMMAM — A Saudi woman has sued her husband for vilification and extortion when he published her photos on social networking site with offensive remarks. After her marriage, the woman began receiving obscene and threatening text messages. She told her husband who accused his ex-wife as being behind them. He had been married earlier and suggested that his ex-wife was out to ruin his present marriage. She began to doubt him when she saw photos of her clothing and bedroom on a social networking site. Her husband denied any knowledge on who was uploading the photos, although no one else had access. She complained to the police who referred the matter to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution. The case was then referred to court. Investigations revealed that the man was continuing an illicit relationship with his ex-wife. The case has been bouncing in court for over a year without any judgment. The woman is demanding full custody of her child, claiming that her husband who she intends to divorce is irresponsible. — SG
