JEDDAH — The Jeddah Atelier for Fine Arts hosts “Nostalgia,” the 10th solo art exhibition by artist Said Al-Alawy. The 10-day exhibition featuring around 40 black and white paintings of Al-Alawy was inaugurated by the famous artist, Taha Sabban. “Al-Alawy, is a real artist who goes leisurely on his artistic journey. He is confident with what he presents and his works carry professional messages,” said Hesham Qandil, Jeddah Atelier manager. At Al-Alawy's current exhibition, visitors can enjoy the imperial beauty of Saudi Arabia's heritage. He has avoided the use of colors and has only used two basic colors – black and white – to highlight the simplicity and beauty of Jeddah's old buildings and alleys. At the opening, Abdullah Al Taezy, manager of the Society for Culture and Art, Jeddah branch, presented an appreciation certificate on behalf of the society's employees to Al-Alawy for his artistic efforts. Al-Alawy's most recent solo art exhibition was held last year in Ethopia. He has also been an integral part of many other renowned galleries in the Kingdom and abroad.
