Syed Mussarat Khalil Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The Pakistan Writers Forum (PWF) here organized a seminar on unity in the Muslim world. Altaf Awan conducted the program and highlighted the importance of such topics for the benefit of the whole world in general and Muslim Ummah in particular. He asked all participants to avoid emphasizing differences and focus on acceptance, as it is the first step toward unity. The key speaker of the seminar was Abrar Ahmed Islahi, a renowned scholar. He said as long as the Muslim Ummah and its leaders adhere to the principles of the Qur'an, society would live in peace. He also suggested maintaining close interaction among various Islamic organizations to ensure harmony in the community. Asghar Beg Mirza, a social worker in the Pakistani community, said there is no concept of Ummah without unity. He stressed the importance of cooperation among various Muslim organizations to ensure mutual respect and prevent divisions resulting from minor conflicts. Adil Majid, a philanthropist, said education was also important to ensure Muslim unity. Majid said Muslims should support needy and poor students depending on their resources.
