Saudi Methanol Co (Ar-Razi)'s fifth expansion project has started commercial production, Japanese chemical producer Mitsubishi Gas Chemical (MGC), a participant of the project, said on Tuesday. The methanol unit in Al-Jubail, with a capacity of 1.7m tonnes/year, was completed in March as scheduled, after almost three years since the start of construction, and began commercial production in May, the company said.
