Searidge Technologies and its partner in the Gulf region, Bayanat Airports Engineering & Supplies LLC, announced on Monday the award of a contract by the Abu Dhabi Airport Company (ADAC) to supply the Searidge Technologies IntelliDAR system for advanced surface surveillance. IntelliDAR, a non-cooperative system, provides surface surveillance capabilities enabling air traffic controllers to have full situational and visual awareness of the airport's newly constructed runway. “Abu Dhabi International Airport (ADIA) is a growing airport with a passenger-centric philosophy and a goal of providing best of breed systems for our customers. We have chosen the IntelliDAR product which we believe will provide the best solution for our surveillance needs,” said Massimiliano Dosi, Chief operating officer, Abu Dhabi Airports Company. ADIA services the needs of the Capital of the United Arab Emirates and is currently undertaking significant expansion to ensure the best service for the capital city. A newly constructed runway will allow the airport to provide better services to its airline customers and the IntelliDAR system greatly enhances the information provided to air traffic controllers. Empowering them to make timely traffic management decisions with a high degree of confidence. In cases of ambiguity, an air traffic controller has the ability to visually validate what is seen on the screen by viewing the target through the real-time video protocol provided by IntelliDAR. “We are excited to be part of the explosive growth in the aviation industry in the Gulf region” said Moodie Cheikh, president, Searidge Technologies. “Abu Dhabi International airport is a busy airport with a reputation for deploying world class technology and we are pleased they have selected the IntelliDAR system”. The IntelliDAR system uses a network of digital imaging sensors, coupled with advanced computer vision technology to detect and monitor traffic movements on the airport surface. The system helps to increase the overall safety of the airport surface through eliminating blind spots, detecting non-cooperative targets, and mitigating the risk of possible runway incursion. IntelliDAR requires minimal site preparation along with flexible deployment options “This is the first contract award for Bayanat Airports Engineering & Supplies and Searidge since our newly formed partnership. This deployment will enable Abu Dhabi International Airport to provide its customers with greater expedition and efficiencies as it continues to grow,” said Alan Bourjeily, general manager, Bayanat Airports Engineering & Supplies. “We are confident in Searidge as a partner and its technology and are actively pursuing other opportunities in the region.” __
