CORNWALL — You can get a lot for £10,000. Or you can get one pineapple — but not just any pineapple. According to the Daily Mail, experts have produced the world's most expensive pineapples, which cost £1,200 each to grow. Their sale value is at £10,000 because of their “rarity, production values and the unique location.” These pineapples were grown over two years using traditional Victorian gardening methods in a botanical attraction in Cornwall called the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The techniques include using 30 tons of horse manure and piles of straw. Oh, and regularly soaking the fruits in equine urine. The luxury fruits were described as being “deliciously sweet” with an “explosive flavor.” However, you can hold on to your money because these pineapples will not be sold but fed to the garden's staff only. — SG
