Ibrahim Alwi Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The Jeddah district court has sentenced an expatriate female to eight months in prison, and 90 lashes for adultery. She will be deported after serving her sentence. Another expatriate woman, whose case will be dealt with separately, was acting as the pimp for the accused woman. The pimp would receive calls from clients, and he would arrange a meeting between the client and the accused. In return, he would ask for a SR300 mobile SIM. The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Visa (Hai'a) coordinated with security personnel to set up an arrangement with the pimp. An officer in disguise called the pimp and arranged for a meeting with the accused. They agreed on SR 500 for the accused, and the mobile SIMs for the go-between. With the accused in his car, the undercover officer stopped at a store to purchase the SIM. The Hai'a then entered the scene and apprehended the accused. They found birth control pills, contraceptives, and SR900 in her possession. The accused was referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution before appearing before a court.
