MANILA — Star Cinema's entry to the 38th Metro Manila Film Fest (MMFF) has been given the highest rating by a media review agency prior to the fest's opening on Dec. 25. The Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB) gave a glittering A to “One More Try,” it announced Friday. In the romantic drama, a single mother find herself in a delicate situation with her erstwhile partner when their son suffers from a rare blood condition. It stars “Kapamilya” (ABS-CBN) talents Angelica Panganiban, Angel Locsin, and Zanjoe Marudo. It also stars “Kapuso” (GMA 7) actor Dingdong Dantes, who marks his sophomore outing with Star Cinema after “Segunda Mano” (Second Hand) in 2011. Also among the cast are Carmina Villaroel-Legaspi, Agot Isidro, Edward Mendez, and Gina Pare?o. — SG
