A recent study by King Saud Univeristy (KSU) in Riyadh stated, 30 percent of patients in government hospitals do not need treatment. Instead they are prescribed placebos or sugar pills to make them believe they are being treated. The study conducted by the KSU Pharmacy College found that these patients are psychologically dependent on seeking treatment. Dr. Tawfeek Al-Najar a professor at the Pharmacy College in Riyadh said the field study proved that these patients do not suffer from any disease.
