Saeed Al-Khotani Saudi Gazette RIYADH — The Shoura Council has recommended that full housing allowances for physicians and dentists of Ministry of Health be paid to them as per the regulations, without requiring them to produce a rental contract in the case when housing is not provided to them by the health care facilities where they work in. This recommendation and others related to healthcare services, were made during Sunday's session of the Council following the discussion of the annual reports of both the Ministry and King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH), according to Dr. Muhammed Al-Yomni, Deputy Health Minister for Planning and Health Economics. Among other recommendation was expanding the joint medical cooperation program of KKESH to include hospitals all over the Kingdom, and to formulate a program for curbing and preventing obesity. Dr. Al-Yomni said that the Council emphasized the necessity for the Ministry of Health to establish early detection centers for autism in different parts of the Kingdom for diagnosing for early treatment and rehabilitation. The Shoura Council asked the Ministry of Health to include in its future reports information and figures on the state of healthcare condition in various regions of the Kingdom covering the number of hospitals, healthcare centers and bed capacities, the figures of populations served with these hospitals and healthcare centers along with highlighting the specialties available at these healthcare facilities.
