JEDDAH — Director General for Civil Status in Makkah Province Ghazi Al-Bisheri opened a third Civil Status office in north Jeddah on Tuesday. The office started receiving customers the same day it opened. He said the office, based at Good Center Mall, offers its services to all citizens in Jeddah, adding it will reduce pressure on the other offices. The Civil Status department now has three offices, including one at Al-Andalus Mall and another in the Al-Safa district. The office aims to serve as many customers as possible. The office issues the newly designed identification cards and handles family registrations, divorce and marriage certificates and amendment of professions. He said there are 40 employees at the center who have been intensively trained. Fatima Al-Harithy, head of the women's section at the office, said most women who visited the office were issued ID cards and marriage and divorce certificates. She urged women customers to obtain appointments through the Ministry of Interior's website to process their procedures quickly. — SG
