MANILA — Filipino celebrities took to Twitter to express sadness and shock over “Pambansang Kamao” Manny Pacquiao's loss to Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez on Sunday, according to ABS-CBN News. Pacquiao, a.k.a. the “Pacman,” was knocked out at the end of the sixth round during the bout at the GMG Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. “I'm in shock!!!” Ruffa Gutierrez (@iloveruffag) tweeted. Mariel Rodriguez (@marieltpadilla) felt similarly, tweeting: “I still can't believe it.” Even cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo (@VickiBelo) weighed in. “Everyone is in shock about what happened to Manny. It was so scary to see him lying there unconscious for such a long time.” But many of them also reaffirmed their full support for the beloved boxing icon. “Nothing left to prove Pacman… you are still the best,” actor-host Luis Manzano (@luckymanzano) tweeted. ABS-CBN journalist Karen Davila (@Karen_Davila) also had encouraging words for the prizefighter: “Manny, you have your countrymen behind you. (We love you. The pride you've given the nation is already engraved in our hearts.)” TV host Cesca Litton (@CheckLit) perhaps tweeted it best: “Manny Pacquiao is the epitome of the Filipino spirit. You get knocked down, you get up with a smile and move on. #PinoyPride” — SG
