Locust trade flourishes in Buraidah market

BURAIDAH — Al-Jardah market in Buraidah is witnessing a huge supply of locusts. Prices have reached up to SR230 for a bag of locusts. Most customers are the elderly who believe that the locust has healing characteristics for certain illnesses. Others believe that locusts have aphrodisiac properties. A locust trader said that he buys locust from locust chasers, who collect and bag them for sale.
