Airport Cricket Club halted Saudi Oger from getting third consecutive title in MCA Cricket Tournaments by defeating it in Taiba Challange Cup final 2007-2008. Saudi Oger had won MCA SADAFCO Cup and MCA President Cup Tournaments in a row. Seven teams - Saudi Oger, SADAFCO, Qasre Shireen, Airport, MCA Juniors, Quba Eleven and Young Stars - participated in the Taiba Challange Cup. Saudi Oger reached the final by beating SADAFCO while Airport beat Quba Eleven in the other semis. Batting first, Airport Club was all out for 198 in a 30-over match. Ihsan Butt and Arshed Raza were the top scorers with 34 and 32 respectively. Rauf Boota made 26 while Hafiz Imtiaz contributed 17. Ikram of Saudi Oger captured four wickets while Rashid and Azher took two each. In reply Saudi Oger could not achieve a relatively low target because of very tight bowling and excellent fielding by the Airport team. Rashid with alone 40 runs showed some courage while others got out cheaply in 17 overs for 126. Rauf Boota sent four batsmen back to pavilion. Hafiz Imtiaz and Ameen shared four wickets. Ikhlaq and Qaiser from Quba Eleven umpired the final. After the final, chief guest Shebaz Senior, former captain of Pakistan Olympics hockey team, was accompanied by Ustaz Adil Shurbi, Malik Anwar, Saed Ahmed and the other dignitaries for the awarding ceremony. chief guest handed over the winner and runner-up trophies to the respective captains Rauf Boota and Azher.
