The General Secretariat Commission of the Federation of Arab News Agencies concluded its first annual meeting Thursday. The Commission was briefed on the report of the World Conference for Dialogue held in Madrid, Spain, and chaired by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The Commission also discussed how news agencies in the Middle East promoted the ideas discussed at the Inter-faith conference in Spain through journalism. In its final report the Commission valued the initiative of King Abdullah aimed at spearheading a culture of dialogue and spirit of tolerance within society. As part of its conclusion the Commission recommended frequent training workshops to develop the skills of editors in Arab news agencies to improve the quality of news presented.
