RIYADH — A mosque that provides the only washing and shrouding service in Al-Kharj has turned to Twitter to ask for help in transporting the deceased, according to a report in Al-Watan newspaper. Utilizing the social networking and micro-blogging site, the King Abdulaziz Mosque has requested assistance for securing a fourth vehicle. It currently has three vehicles for transporting the dead. Inaugurated 10 years ago, the mosque depends on charity donations for its operations. It has washed and shrouded 732 people last year. It is operated by 12 employees who are paid SR1500 a month. Besides maintaining a Twitter account, it sends text messages to 650 participants of prayer times for the deceased. — SG
