Chevrolet hosted its second outing for Chevrolet Knights club last Nov. 16 at the Pavilion, Downtown Dubai. The Chevrolet Knights club was formed solely for Camaro owners in United Arab Emirates early this year to allow owners to share their affinity and passion toward their vehicles in a relaxed and fun environment. The event theme was “Show and Shine” and was attended by over 100 guests including Camaro owners and Chevrolet dealers. The event included a drive program in downtown Dubai, followed by an award ceremony for the best accessorized Camaro. At the end of the ceremony, fans were given an exclusive preview of the all-new 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the most powerful Camaro ever. “This is another fantastic opportunity to have passionate Camaro owners gathered in one location to let them enjoy the unique Camaro Experience,” said Fadi Ghosn, Chief Marketing Officer of General Motors Middle East Operations. “Chevrolet has taken the number one spot in the sports car segment shortly after the launch of the new Camaro in September 2009. With the introduction of the Camaro ZL1, Chevrolet's position will continue to strengthen,” he added. The new 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 started to arrive to showrooms across the Middle East. The ZL1 is the most-powerful production Camaro ever, powered by a 6.2L supercharged engine producing 580 horsepower and 754 Nm, with a top speed of 296 km/h. The ZL1 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds. Since its introduction, Chevrolet Camaro became an immediate success in the sports car market. It was named Best Muscle Car three years in a row, in 2009, 2010 and 2011from leading automotive publications. In February of this year, the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible was awarded “Muscle Car of the Year” by Evo Middle East magazine. — SG
