GAZA CITY – At least 11 Palestinian civilians, including four children from the same family, were killed Sunday in what Hamas said was an Israeli air strike on a Gaza apartment building, the highest death toll in a single incident in five days of fighting. The strike flattened a two-story building of the Daloo family. Gaza health official Ashraf Al-Kidra said four women and four small children were among the dead. Frantic rescuers pulled the children's bodies from the rubble, including a toddler, as survivors and bystanders screamed in grief. Later, the four children were laid out in the morgue of Gaza City's Shifa Hospital. It was not immediately clear what the target of the airstrike was. Another strike in the city brought down a home near a Hamas police station in the Tufah neighborhood. Rescue workers pulled out the body of a dead woman, along with several surviving members of her family. In the Shati refugee camp near Gaza City, a missile struck the car of a Hamas fighter outside his home, killing him and an 11-year-old girl passing by at the time, al-Kidra said. – Agencies
