DAMMAM — As part of the initiatives launched by King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue targeting the youth, the first Youth Dialogue Workshop Program (Tamkeen) was launched in Dammam recently. The workshop was kicked off by professor Abdullah Al Saghan, Director of the Department of Training and Workshops at the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue, with the participation of 21 young men and 37 women from various regions. Participants in the first Tamkeen Workshop generated many ideas and initiatives covering their interests in the Eastern Province, generally focusing on the educational system and the ability to overcome some of the obstacles that might face the youth. At the same time, female participants provided special initiatives that predominantly focused on women issues, education, and recreational programs. The Tamkeen Program operates through workshops, beginning with this workshop and will continue based on a preset schedule of events in the four different regions in the Kingdom. These workshops will encourage young men and women to present their initiatives and assist them in crystalizing them for easy application and roll out. After that, these initiatives are sent to the specialist organization for implementation. Mohammed Al Mohammad, Head of the youth committee in King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue, stressed on the role of the Center in uplifting young men and women and give them an opportunity to present and showcase what would meet their ambitions. He also said that the Center has multiple programs including “Tamkeen, Safeer, and Bayader, Dialogue Cafe, and Dialogue Convoy,” as step that reaffirms the Center's objectives to achieve the aspirations of this segment, which represents the majority in our community. – SG
