“Our Airport and the summer”– third annual festival starts on Wednesday at Dammam airport and will run for a duration of two months. The festival, aimed at improving domestic tourism, will host several programs for Ramadan, the national day and Eid Al-Fitr. “There will be competitions, traditional and cultural entertainment and educational programs,” said Khalid Al-Mishal, general manager of King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. “Tourism and airports are linked, when one improves it has an effect on the other,” he said. In Ramadan, Iftar meals will be distributed for the poor. “Most government and private companies distribute Iftar and give charity to the poor sections of the society,” Al-Mishal said. In addition, 25 free Umrah tickets will be distributed, he said. “During Eid we will distribute gifts to visitors and travelers arriving from abroad,” Al-Mishal said. “In October, students traveling or visiting the airport will receive free school supplies.” Private companies such as Safari Ltd., Al-Subah Commercial Group, Al-Youm Newspaper, Rotana Magazine, Saudi Airlines and Sama Airlines are jointly organizing the festival. __
