RIYADH – Service seekers no longer have to visit labor offices to get their work done. They just have to mail their applications through Saudi Post to the Ministry of Labor. An agreement to this effect was signed Tuesday by Labor Minister Adel Fakieh and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Post Muhammad Mulla. Service seekers can apply for issuance and renewal of employment licenses, recruitment of foreign workers, change of profession, address updates, and delivery of a wide variety of documents to the Ministry of Labor through post offices. Mulla said that the agreement aims to reduce crowding at government buildings and save citizens the trouble and time of going to labor offices. Fakeih urged all establishments to provide accurate mailing addresses so that the ministry can update its database. This agreement, which will be implemented over the next few months, comes in line with the initiative to focus on electronic services and delivering documents to beneficiaries at their domicile through mail. The Ministry of Labor wants to make its services readily available to all beneficiaries. Mulla said this is one of the most important agreements Saudi Post has signed to provide public and private establishments with such services. – SG/SPA
