Emirates flies daily to Sana'a
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 11 - 2012

MARKING its 16 years of operations in Yemen, Emirates, one of the world's fastest growing airlines, has introduced an additional weekly flight to Sana'a. Yemen is now a daily service from Dubai since last Oct. 28.
The airline launched services to the Yemeni capital on Oct. 28, 1996, beginning with two weekly flights. The route is currently supported with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft in a three-class configuration.
Emirates flight 961 leaves Dubai daily at 0715 hours and arrives in Sana'a at 0900 hours. The return flight, EK962, leaves Sana'a at 1015 hours and lands in Dubai at 1345 hours.
“It is with great pride that we are strengthening our commitment to Yemen at the same time as we celebrate our 16th anniversary," said Husain Bani Hashem, Emirates' Country Manager in Yemen.
“Now, with the daily service, Yemen can look forward to trade and tourism being further stimulated between destinations across our vast network via Dubai," he added.
Yemen has five international airports.
The additional frequency will also provide more flexibility for passengers from Yemen to Dubai and onwards to popular destinations such as China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, France, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The 7th weekly flight enables Emirates SkyCargo to offer additional capacity in the belly-hold of aircraft for Yemen's exports, such as seafood. With a fleet of 188 aircraft, Emirates currently flies to 127 destinations in 74 countries.
In the coming months, the airline will launch further destinations; Lyon on Dec. 5, Phuket from Dec. 10, Warsaw from Feb. 6, 2013 and Algiers effective March 1. — SG
