MUMBAI — As Hurricane Sandy battered the US East Coast, Bollywood celebrities Priyanka Chopra, Nargis Fakhri, Anupam Kher, among others, expressed via Twitter their concern for those affected. “Sometimes mother nature can show its rage. Hurricane Sandy a big concern! Praying,” tweeted Bipasha Basu. Music director Salim Merchant tweeted: “My heart goes out to all of you there on the East Coast of America. Please be safe.” Fakhri tweeted that she was in New York when Hurricane Irene struck the same region last year, and that was nothing compared to the menacing Sandy this year. They and other stars have been keeping keeping track of the so-called Frankenstorm and praying for everyone's safety. Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted that the constant negative updates are making him feel sad. Other tweets were more encouraging: “Stay strong” and “You can brave it out” with the hashtags #NYC and #Sandy. — SG
