MUMBAI – The late filmmaker Yash Chopra, popularly known as the “King of Romance,” wished to have a grand premiere for his latest film “Jab Tak Hain Jaan” (Till the Last Breath), starring Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead. Unfortunately, he passed away following dengue infection and multiple organ failures last week. But his wife, Pamela Chopra, has decided to honor her late husband's wish by having a star-studded premiere of his last film — exactly the way Yash had wished. Speaking to an Indian newspaper, Pamela said she wanted to give her late husband an unforgettable farewell. “The premiere will be our way of celebrating his illustrious life, instead of mourning over it.” The bereaved wife has asked her sons, Aditya and Uday Chopra, to plan the premiere of the film on November 12, just a day before it hits theaters on November 13. — SG
