day exhibition featuring 100 artists ends today after more than 2,500 people attended the event at Red Sea Mall. The exhibition also marked the opening of a workshop for amateur artists. “Learning to paint is the right of art lovers,” said Abubakr Ba Qadir, international relations undersecretary for the Ministry of Culture and Information. He hoped young people would be encouraged to take up painting with the opening of this art workshop. Close to 200 pictures were on display by some 100 artists. One of the artists Lujain Khaled said artists would be able to display their work and receive feedback on their work from visitors. “I am glad to see such initiatives from the authorities, especially something that encourages upcoming artists,” she said. Another artist, Fatima Ba Azeem said several of the paintings had been worked on by more than one artist. “The visitors can see museum quality original paintings with some more inspirational and some more traditional,” she said. __
