JEDDAH — Prince Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee, has given directives to the Passport Department in Jeddah to extend the issuance of Haj permits for expatriates until Tuesday, said Brig. Aiyed Bin Taghalib Al-Harbi, Commander of the Haj Passport Department. The previous deadline was Sunday, he said, adding Prince Ahmed issued his directives on the basis of a recommendation made by the region's Haj committees. The department will receive applications at 7 a.m. and the permits will be issued the same day. Al-Harbi said a Haj permit consists of three portions. One portion is for the pilgrim and another is for the internal Haj service company, which will hand it over to officers at the checkpoints. The third portion will be given to the representatives of the Ministry of Haj who are stationed at the checkpoints.
