Nada Al-Maddah Saudi Gazette MAKKAH – Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah Region and Chairman of the Haj High Committee, has said all bus drivers serving pilgrims should be treated at the Ministry of Health's polyclinics. Abdo Yamani, president of the General Syndicate of Cars, received a complaint from Haj bus drivers who said they were denied treatment at government polyclinics. Yamani referred the complaint to the Emir's office and Prince Khaled issued directives to grant treatment to more than 25,000 drivers whenever necessary. Meanwhile, the syndicate has provided highway patrol checkpoints with searchlights to alert bus drivers to the checkpoints located at the Makkah-Madinah Highway, said Marwan Zubaidi, a syndicate spokesman. The syndicate designed an emergency plan to transport pilgrims who get caught up in traffic congestion on Sunday (the fifth day of Dhul Haj) and take them to Makkah to perform the Haj rites, Zubaidi added. “So far, 1,304,500 pilgrims have been transported by bus.”
